What is a zombie knife?

A zombie knife is an aggressive-looking knife typically with toxic green handles, black blades and violent/graphic text along the blade or handles suggesting the knife is to be used for violence.

"Zombie killer knives glamorise violence and cause devastating damage – they have no place whatsoever in our society." Alf Hitchcock, lead on knife crime at the National Police Chiefs’ Council, said: "Zombie knives are absolutely horrific weapons." - Metro.co.uk

Due to recent United Kingdom legislation, it is important for us to clear any confusion among buyers. The amendment follows:

Amendment of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order 1988
(s)the weapon sometimes known as a “zombie knife”, “zombie killer knife” or “zombie slayer knife”, being a blade with—
(i)a cutting edge;
(ii)a serrated edge; and
(iii)images or words (whether on the blade or handle) that suggest that it is to be used for the purpose of violence.

The amendment bans zombie knives specifically and condition iii must be met.

There are vast distinctions between "zombie knives" and Elemental Knives® products. Zombie knives typically have aggressive or vicious writing and symbols on the blade. Words such as "head splitter" or "zombie killer" featuring a skull or the symbol for biological hazard. The knives come in many different lengths. Some are made with blades that are 45cm long or more. The knife models of zombie knives are very unique and are not widely available in the market or made by other knife makers.

It is important to note that Elemental Knives® products are considered as pieces of collectible art. All of our products are sold for display and collection purposes only. There are no depictions of violence or aggressive writing. All of our knife models are widely available. They are common models in the market made by many other manufacturers. Our illustrative designs are what separate Elemental Knives® from other knife brands. The audience we cater to knows that using the knife would result in damaging the finish, hence ruining the art piece and voiding the purpose of owning an Elemental Knives® product.
